Use a magnifying glass to enlarge the words in books and the text printed on paper. A magnifying glass is a lens used to make an object look bigger. It was invented in 1250 by the Englishman Roger Bacon. Magnifying glasses can visually enlarge many types of reading materials including newspapers, books and words in fine print.
Enlarge text on your computer screen in the Microsoft Word program. Highlight the text that you want to enlarge. Go to the Font Size list box under the Formatting toolbar, click the "Down" arrow and choose how much you want to increase the font size. You can also push the "Ctrl," "Shift," and "P" keys simultaneously and enter your desired font size. Press the "Up" or "Down" keys to scroll through the font size list and press "Enter." The shortcut keys "Ctrl," "Shift" and ">" or "Ctrl" and "[" will also increase the text size.
You can increase the size of online text while using Internet Explorer. Open the Page menu located on the Command bar. Select "Zoom" and choose the percentage increase in size that you want. You can also increase the font size by pressing down the "Ctrl" key and pressing the "+" key simultaneously. Press the "Ctrl" and "0" keys to return to the default zoom setting. Another method to enlarge letters is to hold down the "Ctrl" key and move your mouse's scroll wheel in the forward direction.
Enlarge text while using the Firefox Internet browser. Select the "Firefox" button located at the top of the browser window and choose "Options." Click the "Content" menu. Go to the "size" drop-down menu inside "Fonts & Colors" and choose the font size you want. Select "OK" to close the "Options" box.
