Log on to www.hallmark.com. Scroll down to the bottom of the homepage. Click on the "careers" link on the bottom navigation bar.
Once you're on the careers page, click on the "creative division" link on the right side navigation bar. You’ll get to a page that describes the different creative careers within the company. For greeting card writers, see the text under the "Creative Writing and Editorial" heading for information.
Scroll up to the top of the creative division page and click "search jobs" on the right side navigation bar. Once on the page, click the link for careers within Hallmark's creative division. You'll be directed to a page that outlines how to send your resume and writing portfolio electronically and in what format. At the bottom of the page, you can view a list of available jobs and click on each one for more information.As for what's you'll get paid, Hallmark doesn't provide salary information for it's careers with the creative division. However, the average salary for a career at Hallmark is $38,000, according to Simply Hired, a website that provides salary information given by employees. Hallmark does provide a listing of its benefits for full- and part-time, including medical and tuition reimbursment, on its website.
Submit an electronic resume. Hallmark views every resume and portfolio they receive, so make your application attractive. Add links to any online e-cards you've created, or better yet, have an online portfolio of your writing experience. Also, add links to your blog or your website. Show Hallmark all of your talents and experience-- this is a creative writing position, so share your interests and flair.You'll also have to submit a writing assignment with the application. Read all of the tips and suggestions listed and follow them. Hallmark is pretty clear about what they want, so give it to them.The company also requests 5 to10 writing samples, so send them your best.There is an option to build an online resume directly on the Hallmark website. So, if you don't already have an electronic resume, create one.
Occasionally, Hallmark will run a greeting card contest that's open to public submissions. The company announces competitions on Hallmark.com, so check it occasionally.
