Locate the name of the author, title of the book, publisher and place of publication and copyright year for the book you wish to cite. You can find all of this information on the book's copyright page, which is the page after the title page.
Put the information about the book in the following order with the following punctuation in your bibliography: Author last name, author first name, title of book (in either italics or underlined). Place of publication: name of publisher, copyright year. If your book has two or more authors, the entry would remain the same with the following alteration: first author last name, first author first name, and second author first name, second author last name. You would list the third and subsequent authors in the same manner as the second author, putting a period after the last name of the final author before continuing with the entry.
If your book was compiled by an editor rather than an author, the citation would be the same as in Step 2 with the following alteration: author last name, author first name, ed. You would cite multiple editors in the same way as you would cite multiple authors, and you would change "ed." to "eds." If you are using Chicago Style and your book has an editor or editors, you will separate the abbreviation "ed." or "eds." from the last editor name with a period rather than a comma.
Place the entry for the book in alphabetical order by author or editor last name in the context of your other sources. Should your book not list an author, alphabetize your book according to the first letter of the first word of the title.
Arrange the bibliographic information for the book in the following order: author last name, author first initial. (Copyright year.) Book title (in italics or underline). Place of publication: name of publisher. You would cite multiple authors in the same last name, first initial format, separating each name with a comma. You should signify the last author name with an ampersand before the name listing.
If your book was compiled by an editor rather than an author, the citation would be the same as in Step 2 with the following alteration: author last name, author first initial (Ed.). You would cite multiple editors in the same way as you would cite multiple authors, and you would change "(Ed.)" to "(Eds.)"
