How to Purchase E-book Textbooks

E-books have several advantages over traditional print books, including their portability, price and convenience. They can be read on e-book readers, computers and even smartphones. E-books are not just for leisure reading. E-textbooks can offer the same advantages to students. Students can carry all their books with them with nothing more than their cell phone.

Instructions

  1. Amazon Kindle

      Go to Amazon. Sign into your account (or sign up for one).

      Hover over "Kindle" along the left sidebar. When the Kindle menu appears, click on "eBooks."

      Scroll down until you see the heading "Kindle Books" along the left side of the page. Look below it and click on "Textbooks."

      Using the search bar, search for the textbook you want. Click on it. Click "Buy Now with 1-Click." The book will be charged to your credit card and delivered to your Kindle device.

    Barnes & Noble Nook

      Go to Barnes and Noble online. Sign up for an account if you do not already have one.

      Click on "Textbooks" along the top, then "eTextbooks." Search for and find the book you want.

      Click "Add to Cart." Then, click "Proceed to Checkout." Confirm your address and payment method. Complete the order. The e-textbook will download to your Nook device.

    TextBooks.com

      Go to TextBooks.com. Search for the book and find the e-book version in the results.

      Click "Add to Cart," then "Checkout."

    • 10

      Create an account or sign into an existing account. Enter your payment method and complete the order.

      Download your e-book to your VitalSource Bookshelf Reader device.
