1. Ensure that the firearm is unloaded and the chamber is empty. Point it in a safe direction and engage the safety.
2. Open the action by pushing the "release" button located at the rear of the receiver near the stock. Pull the barrel and forend assembly forward until it detaches from the receiver.
3. With the barrel and forend assembly separated, rotate the forend counterclockwise to unscrew it from the barrel.
4. Pull the barrel forward to remove it from the magazine tube. Be careful not to lose the magazine cap, spring, and follower, which may come out along with the barrel.
5. To access the trigger assembly and other internal parts, remove the stock by unscrewing the buttplate with a screwdriver and then carefully sliding the stock off the receiver.
6. With the stock removed, you can further disassemble the trigger group and ejector mechanism by removing the screws holding them in place.
7. Clean all the parts thoroughly, using appropriate cleaning solvents and tools. It's important to pay close attention to the locking lug recesses, the inside of the receiver, and the gas piston.
8. After cleaning, reassemble the firearm in the reverse order of disassembly. Ensure that all parts are properly aligned and secured before reattaching the stock and forend.
9. Remember that disassembling and reassembling firearms can be complex, and it's always a good idea to refer to the firearm's owner's manual or seek guidance from a knowledgeable gunsmith if you're not entirely comfortable performing the task yourself.
