How to Process eBooks

If you are struggling to find a publisher for your work, self-publishing an eBook may be an option. In some cases, getting a book published as an eBook can be a way of ensuring it reaches a wider audience than a printed book. It can also be cheaper and more efficient to have your work published in the form of an eBook.

Instructions

    • 1

Write your manuscript in Microsoft Word. If you have written it in another format, copy and paste it across into Microsoft Word. Conduct a spelling and grammar check by selecting "Tools" and "Spelling and Grammar." Send your manuscript to friends and family and have them check it for you.

    • 2

Convert your document into a PDF file, suitable to be published, once you are happy with the content. Ensure that you are happy with the formatting, as this can't be changed in a PDF file. Click "File," "Save As" and select ".pdf" from the drop-down menu. Save it as the title of the book, so that you will be able to find it easily.

    • 3

Log on to the Internet and go to a self-publishing site, such as "Lulu," "Zoe's Books" and "Writer's World." Click "Publish", or a similar command button, depending on the website. Upload your document, and follow the publishing wizard, which will help you through the process.

Promote your eBook by using word of mouth. You can choose different Internet forums to promote your book. For example, if your book is a non-fiction analysis of Star Wars, Star Wars fansites would be a good place to promote your work. This can all be done for free, and will boost the sales of your work.
