How to Make Family Keepsake Cookbooks

A Family keepsake Cookbook is a great way to preserve your family history by passing down recipes from one generation to the next. Family recipes were once preserved simply by word of mouth, but many details can be lost by using this method. A family keepsake cookbook can be an excellent way to pass recipes from generation to generation. They also make excellent gifts. You can purchase family cookbooks online, but they can be quite pricey. My mother-in-law inspired this "how to" article when she gave me and my sister-in-law a homemade family keepsake cookbook for Christmas. She actually got the idea the night before Christmas and pulled it all together in just a few hours. The result was a beautiful keepsake cookbook that will be passed down in my family for years to come. The great thing about the construction of this cookbook is that recipes can be added very easily on a regular basis. This article will show you how to make a family keepsake cookbook with just a few supplies and a little bit of time. It is fun to make and fun to give, so enjoy!

Start by adding your favorite family recipes and then you can look for other recipes at the following locations: online, on boxes & canned foods, magazines, and from friends or relatives. Organize your recipe pages and hole punch them to add them to the cookbook. You can also add dividers to create special recipe sections such as: Family Favorites, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Valentines Day, and any other category you can think of. You can decorate the dividers with family holiday pictures, clip art, stickers, or any other creative method.
