What has the author Daniel G Payne written?

Daniel G. Payne (1811–1893) was an American minister, educator, and bishop in the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME Church). He was the first president of Wilberforce University and a prominent leader of the African-American community in the nineteenth century.

Payne wrote a number of books and articles, including:

* "The History of the African Methodist Episcopal Church" (1865)

* "The Recollections of Seventy Years" (1888)

* "An Address to the Methodist Episcopal Church" (1847)

* "The Claims of the African Race" (1854)

* "Sermons and Addresses" (1889)

In addition to his written works, Payne was also a popular speaker and lecturer, and he traveled throughout the United States and abroad to speak on behalf of African Americans and their rights. He was a passionate advocate for education, civil rights, and racial equality, and his work helped to shape the development of the African-American community in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
