Pluskowski's book _Moscow and Beyond_ (2010) explored the history of Moscow and its relationship with other towns in Muscovy. Her subsequent works include _The Tsardom of Muscovy_ (2015), which covers the history of Muscovite Russia from its origins in the 12th century to its transformation into the Russian Empire in the 18th century; _The Siege of Malta: The Forgotten Battle that Saved Europe_ (2017); _The Oxford Illustrated History of the Crusades_ (2018); and _The Last Tsar and the First Emperor_ (2019).
In addition to her work on Russian history, Pluskowski is also interested in the history of the Mongol Empire and has published several articles and book chapters on the Mongols. She is a regular contributor to historical documentaries, including _The Last Tsars_, _The Rise of the Nazis_, and _Secrets of the Dead_.
