- You may not be signed in to your Apple ID. Make sure you are signed in to your Apple ID in the iTunes app on your computer.
- Your computer may not be authorized for your Apple ID. You can authorize up to five computers for your Apple ID. To authorize a computer, open the iTunes app on your computer and then go to Account > Authorizations > Authorize This Computer.
- Your computer may be offline. You need to be connected to the internet to authorize your computer for your Apple ID.
- Your computer's date and time may be incorrect. Make sure your computer's date and time are set correctly.
- Your computer's firewall or security software may be blocking iTunes. Make sure that iTunes is allowed through your firewall or security software.
- Your computer may have malware or a virus. Malware or a virus can prevent iTunes from working properly. Run a scan of your computer with your antivirus software to check for malware or a virus.
- Your computer may need to be updated. Make sure that your computer's operating system is up to date.
- You may need to reinstall iTunes. If you have tried all of the above steps and your computer still will not authorize on iTunes, you may need to reinstall iTunes.
