Walter Effross (1926–2020) was an American science fiction author, fanzine collector and publisher. He was the founder of the fanzine *Science-Fiction Five Weekly* and editor of several other science fiction fanzines. He also wrote several science fiction novels and short stories. Effross was a fan of science fiction from an early age, and he began writing and publishing his own fanzines in the 1940s. He published over 100 issues of *Science-Fiction Five Weekly*, which was one of the most popular fanzines of its time.
