As of July 2023, the present Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission of India (NHRC) is Justice D. Y. Chandrachud.

He was appointed Chairperson on October 6, 2021. Justice Chandrachud is the current Chief Justice of India(CJI)since November 9, 2022.

The present Secretary General of the NHRC is Bimbadhar Pradhan.He joined the NHCR at Assistant Registrar grade in 1999
