In Sophocles' tragedy "Antigone", Creon does not order Eteocles to be left unburied; rather, it is Polyneices whose dead body Creon orders to be abandoned and unburied on the battlefield as punishment for his rebellion against Thebes. Eteocles, on the other hand, receives a proper burial with full military honors from Creon himself, as he died defending the city
