How was the balancing rock in Queensland formed?
The Balancing Rock in Queensland, also known as the Woggoon Balancing Boulder or simply Woggoon, was not naturally formed. It is a large man-made rock balancing sculpture. The rock was originally a piece of natural sandstone that was carved by a local sculptor named Ray Coles in the 1970s. Coles spent several months carefully chipping away at the rock until it reached its current balanced position. The sculpture is located on private property in the Carnarvon Gorge National Park, and visitors are required to pay a small fee to view it. Regardless of its man-made origins, the Balancing Rock is still a fascinating sight to behold.
