Why should you put first a heated crucible to dessicator before weighing?

When a crucible is heated, it expands. If it is weighed while still hot, it will appear to weigh less than it actually does because some of its mass is lost as steam. By placing the crucible in a desiccator, it can cool down and return to its original weight before being weighed.
