Who invented santoor?

Santoor is an ancient string instrument that has its roots in the Middle East. Its exact origin is not known, but it is believed to have originated in Persia (present-day Iran) around the 6th century AD. The santoor was introduced to India in the 14th century by Amir Khusrau, a famous Indian musician, poet, and composer. He modified and popularized the instrument, and it became an important part of Indian classical music. Santoor was also used in classical music of Turkey and other Middle Eastern countries.
