Why the Armstrong crater is named after Neil Armstrong?

The Armstrong crater on the _Moon_ is not named after the astronaut _Neil Armstrong_ but after its discoverer Charlotte Armstrong, a British astronomer working at Mount Wilson from 1938 to 1941 with Walter Baade.
