What Apollo mission brought back the most rocks?

The Apollo mission that brought back the most rocks was Apollo 17, the last mission to the Moon. It brought back a whopping 243.6 kg (537 lb) of lunar samples.

This was significantly more than any other mission. Apollo 11 brought back 21.6 kg (47.6 lb), Apollo 12 brought back 34 kg (75 lb), and so on.

The reason for the abundance of samples from Apollo 17 is partly due to the fact that the astronauts were geologists, and they were specifically tasked with collecting a large and diverse set of samples.
