When was mime created?

The origins of mime can be traced back to ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt. The concept of miming was not restricted to a single culture but rather developed independently in different parts of the world. Ancient Greek and Roman mime was initially linked to religious ceremonies, but gradually evolved to become a form of entertainment. In Egypt, mime performances were associated with funerary rituals and religious celebrations. Throughout history, mime has taken on various forms and meanings, incorporating dance, gesture and expressive movements to convey stories and emotions.
