How to Find a Trick Roper

A trick roper uses a lariat or lasso to perform stunts for entertainment purposes. She may dance while moving the lariat around herself or may even run while twirling the lariat at high speeds. A trick roper can be hired for parties, events or rodeos for entertainment between contests. Some rodeos hold a trick-roping contest. Finding a trick roper to hire can be accomplished through a Western performance arts association, by calling a rodeo or by calling the local chamber of commerce to find the name of a trick roper for hire in the area.

      Contact the Wild West Arts Club or the Wild West Performance Arts Society for a recommendation on an available trick roper in your area. Obtain the name, phone number or website of the trick roper in order to can contact them.

      Request a recommendation from the local rodeo, if there is one in your area. Many rodeos use trick riders for entertainment between rodeo events.

      Hire a trick roper from a local party entertainment company. Clowns and balloon manipulators are not the only entertainment offered by many party companies. If the company does not have a trick roper, they can find one for you through an industry connection.
