Instructions

    • 1

Print out a nine-point star pattern (see Resources). Enlarge the image in GIMP or Photoshop.

    • 2

Trace the enlarged pattern nine times on three sheets of construction paper.

    • 3

Use a straight edge to drawn a line down the middle of each star. Draw another line halfway down each quadrilateral.

    • 4

Fold the pieces into a pyramid. The pencil marks should be on the inside of the paper. The outside end of the star point should be open. Glue the flaps of the star point together and wait for them to dry.

    • 5

Glue the open end of one star point to the next. Repeat the process until all of the star points are connected. Cut a hole in the center of the star to insert a light.

    • 6

Cut the cardboard for the light's base. It should be a little bit larger than the size of the hole.

    • 7

Cut a small hole for the wire and run the wire through it. Place the light on the back of the star. Glue the light base to the back of the star. Hang the nine point paper star up and plug it in the nearest electrical outlet.
