How to Create Tag Art Collages

Tag art is popular, and many artists are seeing just how creative they can get with something as simple as a blank tag. These tags, when completed, can be hung on the wall, used as decorative bookmarks, used as gift tags, or even as the purpose they were originally intended for: to identify your luggage. Of course if you've spent a lot of time on creating a tag art collage, you may not want to do that.

Instructions

    • 1

Collect several old magazines that you know will have photos that you want to use in your art. If you like the photos in the magazines, chances are you'll like the art you create with them.

    • 2

Cut out as many photos as you'd like to use on your tag art collage.

    • 3

Play with the images on your tag until you get a grouping that you like. Make sure you are certain about the arrangement of images on your art tag collage before you begin gluing them down. Once you start, there is no starting over, especially if you didn't scan, print or photocopy favorite images.

    • 4

Glue down the images in the pattern you liked best. Add more images until you are happy with your art tag.

    • 5

Cut a piece of decorative ribbon or string the length you would like to thread through the hole. Tie the ends together and then thread the now double sided string through the hole in your art tag. Take the other end where you tied the two ends together and pull it down through the loop you just put through the hole in your art tag, and pull it tight.
