How to Paint Multicam

If you want to create an effective camouflage pattern, you might want to learn to paint something like the Multicam pattern. This pattern is made up of four colors, light green, dark green, black and a bit of white, which together blend beautifully into the background. Of course, you may not be planning to use this pattern as actual camouflage but as decoration. In any case, it is fairly easy to create a rough approximation of this pattern.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Spray paint the object to be painted with light green, and let the paint dry.

    • 2

Lay out strips of masking tape on a board and draw out camouflage shape outlines. You want the shapes to be lumpy and random, but smooth. Use a knife to remove the areas around the shapes. Place the masking tape shapes on the object to be painted. Now apply the dark green and let dry. Remove the tape.

    • 3

Repeat step 2 using black paint.

    • 4

Use the tape method to create smaller camouflage shapes that will serve as white splotches. Otherwise, repeat step 2 using the white paint. Spray on a protective clear coat once the white paint has dried.
