How to Turn Your Photo into a Cartoon

Turning a photo into a cartoon can be accomplished by running the image through a filter that applies certain effects, such as color blending and border strokes, to give it a cartoon-like appearance. You can transform your photo into a cartoon automatically using an online cartoon effect generator, which processes the image, animates it and then presents the finished result.

      Select a cartoon effect generator, such as Be Funky, Cartoon.Pho.To or Cartoonize.net.

      Upload your image and select the precise effect you want. On Be Funky, click "Get Started" and then "Upload." Select your image, then click "Artsy" and select "Cartoonize." On Cartoon.Pho.To, click "From Disk" and select your image. Once it has uploaded, click "Cartoon Effect." In Cartoonize.net, click "Upload Photo from Disk." Select the photograph, then select the cartoon effect you want from the 15 available choices.

      Save the finished image. On Be Funky, click "Save/Share," then select "Save" and choose a location on your hard drive where you want the image to be saved. On Cartoon.Pho.To and Cartoonize.net, right-click on the image and choose "Save image," then choose a location on your hard drive to save the image.
