How to Remove the White Background From a Photo Using Corel

Transforming digital photographs into better photos can be a profitable business or an enjoyable activity. Corel Paint Shop Pro is a digital photo-editing program that gives users the ability to change photos in a variety of ways. For example, removing the white background is a common task that editors perform when working with digital photos.

      Open the Corel Paint Shop Pro program. Click “File” and choose “Open” to browse to the location on your hard drive where you store the photo you wish to edit. Highlight the photo and click “Open” to open it within Corel Paint Shop Pro.

      Select “Collage” on the Learning Center Palette and next select “Remove Backgrounds.”

      Look at the top of the workspace and you will see the settings available for the Background Eraser tool. Set the size of the tool to “110” and the limits of the tool to “Discontiguous.”

      Place your cursor over the white background you wish to remove from the photo. Begin clicking the mouse and the white background will transform into a transparent background. If you make a mistake, click the “Undo” button.

      Continue clicking the mouse until all of the white background is gone from the photo.
