Brainstorm for display ideas to help plan for the art show. While many earrings are displayed on Lazy Susan-style stands, there are other ways to show off earrings. Depending upon your jewelry's design, you may want to consider some funky or classic alternatives to the display rack.
Take advantage of a tool peg board if your earrings tend to be modern or industrial in style. To really enhance this style, hook the earring cards onto the peg board in uniform fashion like an assembly line.
Bring a bit of country chic to your displays by framing a bit of mesh (like the kind found on screen doors) and displaying it on a mini easel. Hook earrings on cards can still be hooked into the mesh if the cardboard is thin.
Take the buyer into the forest by creating an earring tree. Gather pretty branches from a nearby wooded area. Plant the branches into a pot and hang the earrings on the branches in various spots.
Make a seashore display by placing pretty shells, driftwood and rocks into an arrangement. Add colorful pails of sand and place the earring cards in the sand. Be sure to make large enough cards so that the earrings don't get lost in the sand.
Go with a traditional look by purchasing an earring ladder and hooking your earrings on that.
Dress up a mannequin head with earrings if you are also featuring necklaces or earring and necklace sets. It's easiest to do this with a Styrofoam head. Be sure to use longer earrings so that they can be noticed and insert them into the head with pins. Paint the head a solid color like midnight blue or Chinese red and adorn with a hat.
Consider using a photo display board that's covered with fabric. If it's the kind with ribbons criss crossing it, you can hook the earring cards into the ribbons for a fancy look that doesn't go over board.
Think about a glass case for earrings that are more expensive, and you won't be moving around much from city to city. Display cases with a luxurious velvet material covering the bottom would add a more formal touch to your show.
