How to Keep Airbrush Tattoos From Smearing

Airbrush tattoos are a temporary solution for a person who wants to wear body art without the commitment of a permanent tattoo. This option allows a person to view a tattoo on their body before deciding to have a real one applied. Airbrush tattoos come with a set of specific after-care guidelines you must follow to keep the tattoo looking bright and to preserve the design from smearing or fading.

Instructions

    • 1

Wear clothing that does not come in contact with the airbrush tattoo to avoid rubbing the paint off.

    • 2

Avoid oil or alcohol-based products in the area that has the airbrush tattoo. Cover the tattoo with a water-resistant bandage while in the shower or swimming. Pat the tattoo dry instead of rubbing the skin.

    • 3

Cover the tattoo with baby powder. Use a makeup brush to dust baby powder over the tattoo and the surrounding skin to help seal the design from oils from your skin. Blot any sweat or water off of the tattoo before applying the baby powder to avoid forming a paste.
