Instructions

    • 1

Search the Internet. Using a popular search engine, look for a picture you wish to paint. Try to find a picture that includes a thick outline. Seeing an outline will make painting the picture easier. A picture with a lot of intricate details may not be a good choice for a beginning glass painter.

    • 2

Print out the picture. Use a standard white printer paper to print out the picture.

    • 3

Change the size of the picture. Check to see if the picture is the correct size to fit on the bowl. If it needs to be reduced or enlarged, you can do this on a copy machine. Do this by raising or lowering the percentage of the copy size on the copy machine. You may need to do this a couple of times before you reach your desired size.

    • 4

Tape the picture inside the bowl. Place the picture inside the bowl with the picture side facing the glass. You should be able to see your picture clearly. Place a couple of pieces of tape to hold the paper in place.

    • 5

Paint the bowl. Use the picture as your template and paint directly onto your bowl. Use the thinner paintbrushes for the outline. Thicker brushes can be used to paint in the color. Remove the paper when finished painting.

    • 6

Bake the glass. Follow the drying instructions for your glass paint. Many manufacturers recommend baking the glass. This will permanently adhere the paint to the glass.
