Collaborate with other local artists to share the cost of a store in which to sell your pieces. Often the cost of renting storefronts is prohibitively expensive, but splitting the cost among several people can afford multiple artists the opportunity to promote themselves.
Contact shop owners in your area about selling your work in their stores. Boutiques, book stores, antique stores and flea markets are just some of the shops that may allow you to sell through them. Some owners may charge a small percentage of your profits, while others may allow you to do so at no cost. Coffee shops are another excellent resource for artists.
Create an online shop, either through your own website domain or through a well-known site such as Etsy. Selling online saves money on start-up costs while simultaneously exposing your work to a great many more people than would be able to enjoy it at the local level.
