How to Bond Plastic to Wood

Many common arts and craft projects call for plastic and wood objects to be bonded together. The key to doing this is to use the right kind of glue. Wood and craft glue are stronger than other types, and don't leave messy residue.

Instructions

    • 1

Twist open the bottle of glue. If it has been used before, wipe away any excess dried glue that may have formed around the cap.

    • 2

Squeeze the bottle along the perimeter of the plastic piece. Don't squeeze too hard. Carefully control the amount of glue that comes out.

    • 3

Press the plastic piece onto the wood firmly. If glue leaks from the bond, quickly wipe it away so that it doesn't end up drying with the finished product.

    • 4

Allow the bonded pair to sit in a well-ventilated area. Drying time may vary based on the type of glue.
