How to Sell Christian Art Greeting Cards

Greeting cards express sentiment including congratulations, sympathy, well wishes or simply a hello. Christian greeting cards use Christian symbols, art, inspirational words or Biblical quotes to convey a thought, a sentiment or to share a prayer. Christian greeting cards are available in retail stores, at small craft markets and in religious gift shops. To sell them in a store, you will need to make connections with store owners and managers. Selling cards at a craft market or online might mean fewer cards sold, but it is also an easier way for the beginning card artist to get started.

Instructions

    • 1

Protect your cards with plastic or Cellophane sleeves, especially if they are original works of art; expect customers to handle cards when making a selection.

    • 2

Make an appointment with the manager, buyer or owner of a store where you would like to sell your cards. Hospital and church gift shops and small, independently owned boutiques might be more welcoming than large retail chains. When you come to the appointment, bring a selection of cards that represents your collection and expect to discuss selling price. If you are not invited to sell cards at that location, try another store or consider selling them on your own.

    • 3

Visit local flea markets and craft markets. If you are interested in selling there, contact the person who coordinates vendors for information. Ask if you will need to pay a fee or a percentage of your sales.

    • 4

Spread the word: tell your friends and associates about your card business and invite them to visit the place where you sell your cards.

    • 5

Display your cards in baskets, trays or decorative boxes. Organize them according to price or style; this makes it easier for buyers to make a selection. Display a price list, or mark the price on the back of each card.
