Open a graphics software program such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or Microsoft Publisher. Click the "File" tab and select "New." A pop-up will appear. Select "Letter Size 8 1/2 Inches by 11 Inches" to use as a blank workspace. A toolbox window will appear on the screen; the toolbox contains all the necessary tools to create the coupon template.
Create a square or a rectangle to use as the template for the coupon. If you're using Microsoft Publisher, click the "Autoshapes" tool from the toolbox window; if using either of the Adobe programs, click the "Shapes" tool and choose "Square Shape." Draw a square or a rectangle by using the mouse to drag the cursor across the workspace. Resize the shape by dragging the guidelines to make the shape smaller or larger.
Create a title box. If using Microsoft Publisher: Select the "Text Box" tool from the toolbox window. Draw the text box by dragging the cursor across the workspace. Click inside the text box to choose the font, font size and font color. Type the desired message into the coupon's text box. If using one of the Adobe programs: Choose the "Font" tool in the toolbox, then choose the font, font size and font color in the "Selections" tab at the top of the screen. Type the desired message. The "Text Box" tool and the "Shapes" tool can be identified by holding the mouse over the tool button until the tool name appears. Repeat the step as necessary to create the coupon template.
Import images stored on the computer or from a disk. If using Microsoft Publisher, click the "Insert" tab and select "Picture." Then choose "Add Image" from the drop-down menu. To insert an image into the Adobe programs, click the "File" tab and select "Open." A pop-up window will appear. Select the image to be uploaded and click "Open." A new window will appear with the imported image. Click the "Image" tab and select "Copy." Click onto the coupon's template workspace, click the "Image" tab and select "Paste." The imported image should now appear on the workspace. Resize the image by dragging the guidelines to make the image smaller or larger as required to fit the coupon template. Repeat until all images for the coupon have been added.
Save the coupon template when you are finished with the design. Click the "File" tab and select "Save." A pop-up window will appear. Type a name into the title box, then click "Save."
Print the coupon by clicking the "File" tab and selecting "Print." A pop-up will appear. Select the desired printer, if there is more than one printer associated with the computer. Click "Print."
