How to Make Noise Makers With Things You Have at Home

Encourage your child to step away from the television and make your own homemade noise makers from materials you already have around the house. The noisemakers can be used casually around the home, or create a bit more structure with siblings or friends and create a small at-home band. If you get easily annoyed with repetitive sounds or electronic toys with music, you might want to turn up your music or send the kids outside with these homemade noisemakers.

Instructions

    • 1

Take two paper plates and put them together with the insides facing each other, leaving space in between the two plates.

    • 2

Staple around the edges of the plates close enough to each other to eliminate any gaps around the edges, but stop when you get near the end and leave a gap large enough to pour the beans into.

    • 3

Pour approximately 1/2 cup of dried beans into the opening, then staple shut completely. Check around the edges of the plate and add staples if you have any visible gaps where beans may spill out.
