Teen Model Photoshoot Ideas

Teen photo shoots generally have different characteristics than the adult variety. Whereas adult model photo shoots might be more daring or provocative, teen photo shoots, by comparison, tend to be more wholesome and simple. This gives the teen a chance to show off her unique physical characteristics with age-appropriate photos that might get her hired for a modeling gig.
  1. School Days

    • Teenagers are most generally associated with school because of their age. Play it up with a fun-loving photo shoot at a school. Put the teen in different costumes associated with various aspects of the high school experience. For example, some shots can be done in the gym in a cheerleading outfit, while others can be taken with a pair of glasses and cardigan in the school library. More shots can be taken of the teen in a drama costume in the school auditorium, while others can be done of the teen in a business suit in the career counselor's office.

    Beach Scene

    • Teenagers tend to have very natural looks, which can be played up beautifully with some simple lip gloss and a touch of mascara. Play into this with a photo shoot at the beach. However, keep in mind that since this theme can be rather sexy, it is important to be tasteful in choice of bathing suits. Go with tankinis, one-pieces or at least full coverage bikinis. Choose bright colors, keep hair natural with beachy waves and get plenty of action shots in, such as a few with a beach ball, some underwater swimming and a few of the model playing in the sand.

    Urban Collective

    • Perhaps you want a photo-shoot backdrop that is more edgy than wholesome. Traipse to your nearest industrial area -- particularly if you live in a larger city with an urban center. Get some shots of the teen model in funky, trendy garb against abandoned buildings, grafitti-laden pipes or overpasses and any other grimy-looking areas. The shots will look great with the juxtaposition of the wholesome, clean teen model against the dirty, grungy backdrop.

    Trampoline

    • If you are looking for a photo shoot idea that doesn't involve traveling to certain areas or dealing with a slew of props, go simple with a teen model and a trampoline. Get plenty of action shots of her bouncing around on the trampoline, and shoot from a variety of angles. For example, you can get an extension ladder and shoot from above as she jumps and even get a shot of her face from the ground peeking over the trampoline or through the mesh. Be creative and have fun with the simplicity of the shoot.
