Create a blog to showcase your art. Include many pictures of your art on your blog so people can become familiar with your work. Add blog pages that explain what inspires you and how you became an artist, as well as your work experience. Mention projects that you will be working on in the future so visitors will return to your blog. Display your email address on your blog and ask customers to request art that they would like to buy.
Talk to friends, family and neighbors about your art. Ask them to share information about your work with people in the community that may like to collect or purchase art. Place small pieces of art on easels around your house so any visitors will notice your work. Photograph any large pieces of art and show the pictures to visitors.
Participate in the local art community. Sign up to participate in local art festivals where you can meet fans and other artists who will spread information about your art. Display your art on easels downtown or in areas with lots of people. Allow people to watch you create art in public parks so they can ask questions about your work. Offer to paint or draw portraits on canvas that people can purchase.
Ask another artist to recommend your art to an art gallery. Look at a gallery's artist roster to find artists you may know. Contact an artist and have her call the gallery. Ask her to mention that you produce high-quality art that is sellable.
Ask a writer who works for a local newspaper or magazine to write an article about your work. Invite her to include pictures of your work in the article. Ask her to put your contact information in the article so customers can contact you and purchase your work. Write your own article about your work and submit it to a newsletter or newspaper.
