How to Apply Polycarbonate Film

Polycarbonate's physical flexibility and brilliant translucency makes the plastic a perfect laminate for a variety of surface. Polycarbonate film is often used to protect video screens and laminate floor decals. Colored varieties of the film can be used to add a light to tint windows. No matter what application you have in mind for your polycarbonate film, there are some basic guidelines that you should follow to ensure that the film is properly installed.

      Measure the dimensions of the surface area where you'd like to apply your polycarbonate film. Cut your film to the match your measurements.

      Prep the surface to which you'd like to apply the polycarbonate film. Clean away any grime from the surface and ensure that it's even. You may have to replace some tiling if you intend to apply the polycarbonate to an uneven tiled floor.

      Begin removing the protective paper from the adhesive side of your film. Apply the film to your surface as you remove the protective paper.

      Smooth out your film over the surface, using a squeegee. You can also use a thick book or roller to even out the polycarbonate. Allow the film to rest for at least 12 hours to ensure that it fully adheres to the surface.
