What did Bertolt Brecht want from the theatre?

Brecht wanted the theatre to be a place of critical thought and social change. He wanted to use the theatre to educate the audience about social and political issues, and to inspire them to take action to change the world. He believed that the theatre should not simply entertain, but should also challenge the audience and provoke them to think about the issues of their time.
