What are most well known works?

* The Canterbury Tales (c. 1387–1400) is a collection of 24 stories that are told by a group of pilgrims as they travel to Canterbury Cathedral. The tales are a diverse group, ranging from bawdy to religious.

* Troilus and Criseyde (c. 1385) is a long narrative poem that tells the story of the love affair between the Trojan prince Troilus and the Greek princess Criseyde. The poem is based on the story of Troy as told by Homer in the Iliad.

* The Legend of Good Women (c. 1386–1388) is a collection of ten poems that tell the stories of famous women from history and mythology. The poems are written in praise of these women and their virtues.

* The Book of the Duchess (c. 1369–1370) is a dream poem that tells the story of the poet's grief over the death of his patron, John of Gaunt's wife, Blanche of Lancaster. The poem is a consolation to the poet and helps him to come to terms with his grief.

* The House of Fame (c. 1379–1380) is a dream poem that tells the story of the poet's journey to the House of Fame. The poem is an allegory of the poet's search for fame and immortality.
