How to Draw or Paint Decorative Letters

Drawing decorative letters is incredibly easy with the double pencil technique, which is most often used to create calligraphy. Once you have created the letters you'd like, you can choose to either fill them in with black marker, colored marker, or even paint.

Instructions

    • 1

Use a table or flat surface to make two pencils stand side by side, point down. Carefully bind the pencils together using tape.

    • 2

Lay out a large piece of paper. Create decorative letters by writing with both pencils at once in cursive. At first it will appear as though you are creating two letters at once, but once you have completed the text you will notice that the letters are simply layered over one another. Make them one by using one side of the pencil to connect the lines at the start and end of each letter. The letters will now resemble calligraphy.

Use colored markers or paints to fill in the empty spaces within the letters you've written. If you stay within the lines, the letters will appear smooth, decorative, and very professional. The varied thickness of the lines will stand out beautifully once the letters are filled in.
