How to Attach a Frame Light to a Picture Top

Attach a frame light to the top of your pictures and art work to best show them off. A great work of art can look mediocre if it is not lit sympathetically. There are a variety of picture frame lights available to choose from, some are battery powered and others have to be plugged into a socket. However, all of the lights attach to a frame in a similar manner.

  • Picture frame light
  • Picture frame light bracket
  • Screws (4)
  • Drill
  • Screwdriver

      Remove the picture frame from the wall on which it is hung.

      Hold the picture frame light bracket against the back of the picture frame, or against the wall behind the picture frame, and mark where the screws need to go. Whether you choose to attach the bracket to the picture frame or to the wall depends on how thick and sturdy the picture frame is.

      Drill four holes where the pencil marks are, then attach the bracket to the wall or frame with the four screws.

      Slide the neck of the picture frame lamp into the bracket. Hang the picture back on the wall and turn the light on.
