"Afternoon Glow" is a painting of a majestic forest barely touched by a sunrise. The warm sun rays garnish the lake waters as they calmly flow. The ducks settle peacefully next to the edge of the water, and nature is in calm serenity. "Clear View" is a breathtaking indulgence for the eyes. It depicts low flying geese in flight as the sun breaks through a cloud. The land takes the form of hills below, and the scene is quiet and peaceful. The entire image is touched by the sun in a warm hue.
"Close to Paradise" resembles Eden with all of its greenery. The lake and the sky complement the enchantment of the forest. In the distance, a large house almost blends in with the forest, providing the perfect harmony between nature and civilization. "Evening Rendezvous" is mainly an overcast of an amber-washed sunset. The clouds have an intricate design, and the rest of the painting is lightly garnished by the greenery of the forest below.
Unlike much of Redlin's other work, "Rusty Refuge" focuses on a particular object rather than a landscape. That object is old, rusted potato digger that is beautifully portrayed. Three ring-necked pheasants see it as shelter from the harsh winter. "Sharing the Silence" is an image of painted silence. The still atmosphere is well captured in this painting. The presence of the moonlight is clear in its light gray, white and midnight blue hues. Human life is still seen in this work through the presentation of cabin life. The firelight is visible in the far distance of this steely art piece.
Redlin's son, Charles Redlin, assisted him in opening the Redlin Art Gallery where many of his originals reside. The gallery is in his hometown, Waterfront, South Dakota.
