How to Mount Art Prints with Spray Adhesive

Art prints are created and purchased in order to be displayed in a space. Many people purchase prints and leave them sitting around for some time when they cannot find a proper frame for the pieces. This is when mounting prints comes in handy. Prints can be mounted to almost any material, ranging from metal to a block of wood, which can then be placed anywhere to be admired. Spray adhesive is a strong material that allows for prints to be securely mounted to a base. Art prints can be mounted with spray adhesive in just a few steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Take the materials outside if possible, or open windows to allow for good ventilation.

    • 2

Place the print on the surface that it will be mounted on, and align it in place.

    • 3

Use a pencil to mark small dots on the mounting surface at each corner of the print.

    • 4

Wipe down the surface that you will be mounting the print to, as well as the back of the print. Dampen a cotton cloth with cold water and wipe the materials until all dirt and dust has been removed.

    • 5

      Allow the surfaces to air-dry.

    • 6

Place the print face-down and spray the adhesive once onto each of the back corners. Only spray each corner for two seconds, so as to not damage the print.

    • 7

Hold on to the print by its sides. Do not touch the corners that the adhesive has been applied to.

    • 8

Align the print with its mounting location in mid air until you are certain that it is inside of the pencil marks that you previously made.

    • 9

Place the print within the pencil marks, and press down on each corner where the adhesive has been applied to secure the print in place.
