Water-soluble acrylic paint works well on ceramics, wood, metal, vinyl and cloth. Depending on the type of paint used, thinning may be necessary to provide a freer flow through the brush. When used on clothing, some paints need to be heat set. There are two ways to do this -- one way is to place a protective cloth between an iron and the design and the other is to turn the garment inside-out and place it in a dryer on a high heat setting.
Acrylic nail art paint is used when airbrushing designs on fingernails. The paint wipes off skin with water when wet, so, if there is a spill or mistake, wipe it off immediately because the paint is permanent when dry. The colors can be mixed to create unique colors.
Airbrush tattoo ink is also known as body art paint. The paint is waterproof, so it stays on until it fades or baby oil is used to remove it. Applying talc powder daily helps the paint stay on the skin and maintains the art.
