How to Make a Clothes Line for Art

You've worked hard on your pieces, and now it's time to set them to dry. Photo pieces, certain paintings, and drawings can hang to dry in your own home. You can hang them just as you would clothes on a clothesline and have them dry in no time.

Things You'll Need

  • Nail
  • Hammer
  • Jacketed clothesline wire
  • Clothespins
  • Newspaper
  • Pencil
  • Measuring tape

Instructions

    • 1

      Find two studs in the wall about 5 feet high and directly across from each other on two walls of a work room or art room.

      Mark the spots, and hammer in a nail on each mark.

      Create a loop on one end of the clothesline wire. Tie it tightly around one nail.

      String the wire across the room until you reach the other stud. Cut the wire, leaving about 12 inches away from the wall.

      Tie the end you just created tightly around the second nail.

      Clip your art to the clothesline using the clothespins.
