Place the lids on the markers at all times, when not in use. This seems like a simple step, but can often be forgotten when your work area is covered with a variety of art supplies.
Store the markers in a storage container in an upright position. The cap of the marker should always be pointing up, which will prevent ink from bleeding during storage. The tip of the cap also displays the color of the marker.
Color-code your markers when you have a large quantity. Place similar colors together, which will allow you to quickly locate the color you need while working.
