Do a face casting to make custom masks. Apply a layer of petroleum jelly to the face first to help release the gauze when finished. You will need approximately 50 1-inch-by-4 -inch strips per mask.
Dip each strip in a bowl of water before applying. Smooth the strips with your fingers and cover the face. Be careful to not cover the nose and mouth completely. Let dry for at least an hour. Remove from face and set aside to finish drying. Once dry, embellish with paint, markers, collage material or clay.
Press wet scraps of Rigid Wrap into any nonporous mold. Lay strips that are slightly larger than the mold inside, spritz with water and hold in place for a few minutes. Release from the mold and set aside to dry. You can use a utility knife or sand paper to remove excess wrap and smooth any rough edges before painting.
Rigid Wrap takes only minutes to set up. For this reason, you can manipulate it into dramatic pieces of jewelry. Cut, wet and layer pieces of Rigid Wrap to make free-form charms. Scrunch it, roll it or fold it to create beads. Once you're happy with the shape, spray it with water. Punch a hole in the top or add wire to finish. Dry the beads on a skewer to hold their shape.
Cut decorative shapes from pieces of Rigid Wrap and apply them to glass ornaments or vases. You can secure the pieces with a dot of glue. Lightly spray the globe or vase with glitter for a festive look. You can paint each dimensional image first.
Create piggy banks using Rigid Wrap, a large balloon, small paper cups, tape and paint or paper. Start by blowing the balloon up and turning it sideways. The balloon tie will be the tail; you can make make feet by taping four small cups to the bottom of the balloon. Make a snout of a piece of one small cup. Use the remaining piece of the cup to cut out two triangles. Tape these triangles to the top of the balloon for ears.
Wrap the entire structure with wet strips of Rigid Wrap. Apply two layers and let dry about one hour. Cut a 1-inch hole in the bottom and remove the balloon. Set aside to dry overnight. Once the form is firm and dry, cut a slit in the top. Decorate with paint or decoupage a layer of patterned paper over the surface.
