How to Clean Self-Adhesive Airbrush Stencils

By their nature, airbrushes produce soft, hazy lines. For hard lines and patterns you must use a stencil. Self-adhesive stencils make airbrushing fine detail much easier. They leave both hands free to work, are capable of more detail that handheld stencils, and there is no danger of paint spraying under the stencil and ruining your work. These stencils are meant to be temporary and will last for only five to 10 uses, but keeping them clean will help you to get the most out of them.

Instructions

    • 1

Stick the adhesive stencil back onto its backing tape after using it.

    • 2

Fold up a paper towel and soak it with water.

    • 3

Pat the paint off of the stencil. This will have the greatest impact if done right away. Don't wipe the stencil as this can damage delicate areas.

    • 4

Pat the stencil with a paper towel soaked with rubbing alcohol for more stubborn paint.
