The resort is the largest and most-visited theme park in the world by attendance, with over 58 million visitors in 2019. Walt Disney World covers an area of approximately 27,400 acres, and employs approximately 77,000 cast members. The resort comprises four theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom), two water parks (Disney's Blizzard Beach and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon), a shopping, dining, and entertainment complex (Disney Springs), and multiple resort hotels.
Each theme park has its own unique theme and attractions. Magic Kingdom is based on the original Disneyland park in Anaheim, California, and features many of the same attractions, such as Cinderella Castle, Space Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Epcot is a futuristic park that celebrates human achievement in the areas of science, technology, and culture. Disney's Hollywood Studios is a film-themed park that features attractions based on popular movies and television shows, such as Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Toy Story. Disney's Animal Kingdom is a wildlife park that features animals from all over the world, as well as rides and attractions based on Disney animated films such as The Lion King and Avatar.
The resort also offers a variety of other attractions, including character meet-and-greets, live shows, fireworks spectaculars, and parades. Walt Disney World Resort is a premier destination for families and tourists from around the world.
