Where are Queen Elizabeth palaces?

Queen Elizabeth II, during her reign, had several official residences, each with a distinct purpose and history. Here are some of the most well-known:

Main Residences:

* Buckingham Palace: Her primary London residence, used for state occasions, official meetings, and public events. It's also where she lived for most of her reign.

* Windsor Castle: The world's oldest and largest inhabited castle, considered her "favorite home." It's used for private and public events, and was where she spent much of her time during the COVID-19 pandemic.

* Balmoral Castle: A private estate in the Scottish Highlands, where the Queen spent her summer holidays and enjoyed her personal time.

Other Residences:

* Holyrood Palace: The Queen's official residence in Scotland, used for state visits and official events.

* Sandringham House: A private estate in Norfolk, where the Queen spent Christmas and the New Year.

* Kensington Palace: Though not a primary residence for the Queen, this palace houses members of the Royal Family, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Other Important Locations:

* The Palace of Westminster: The Queen officially opens each new session of Parliament at this building, also known as the Houses of Parliament.

Note: Since the Queen's passing, King Charles III has assumed these official residences, and it's possible that he might use them differently.
