Disney Discovery Island is located in Bay Lake, Florida, which is a private lake owned by Disney. It is situated near the Magic Kingdom and across from the Contemporary Resort.
The island itself is closed to the public and has been since 1999. While it was once a popular park offering up close animal encounters and nature trails, it is now primarily used for research and development by Disney.
